The Ethics of Documentary Photography and Black Live Matter

As a white male photographer, I never have to really consider if I would be considered for a job based on my skin color. Not everyone has that privilege. I show some footage of a protest I take part in and discuss my feelings around documentary photography at protests and why I support BLM.

Filming for YouTube with Matt Day and Chrissstttiiine

I have had a lot of you guys reach out to ask me about what I use to film my YouTube videos and why. It’s easy to understand the deluge of questions, I had so many when I first started out with YouTube. In fact, I’m still trying to figure it out! Luckily, I am pretty well versed in what I know works for me. I was pretty quick to recognize the gaps in efficiency, areas for improvement, growth potential, and what not to worry about.

It was fun throwing this video together, and not just because I love geeking out over camera gear. I was very lucky to have Matt Day (https://www.youtube.com/user/mattdayphotofilmshow) and Chriiissstttine (https://www.youtube.com/user/chrissstttiiine) contribute their own segments to show off what they use and offer their own wisdom when approaching their YouTube videos and content. You’re gonna wanna watch this one:

Fuji Acros vs Acros II: Video

They did it. Fuji brought back Acros! Or did they? I get my hands on some of the first rolls of Acros II on American soil and pit them against each other to see if i can tell a difference. did Fuji create a faithful replacement for the beloved Acros?

I was joined by my lovely friend Amanda who allowed me to photograph her to compare the two film stocks. This turned out to be a really fantastic comparison. Make sure you watch this! Full res photos below video on this page.
